This is a (mockup) view of the wheel with the bearings and this sleeve inside. Anyone know why it would be there or how i would get it out because like i said the way it is seated there is literally no gap to knock the bearings with on certain sides. Shall i just bash this out so it flares so i can get to the bearing?

Cheers guys the interest from you lot is keeping me from going crazy!

Brilliant mate thanks i have spent hours on google and forums round and round in circles trying to find this! I must bow down to your amazing search skills!

Today i even bought a set of punches and blunted them all and chipped them all to shreds trying to knock those bearings out but nothing!!! now though i can move on with my life!!! Hurrah.

To be fair those codes have got to be helpful for future reference for a lot of people. Maybe we should ask a mod to sticky it?

That inner spacer should be easy (with the aid of your drift) to push/lever to one side so you can get a purchase on the lip of the bearing. When reinstalling the bearings it's often specified to seat one particular side fully before the other, so that the wheel is properly centred.

The inner space ensures that there isn't undue lateral pressure put on the bearing when things are tightened down. Don't damage it.

Why I am going to guess you are trying to push the bearing out (assuming from other side of wheel) as per pic above (that shows the spacer sleeve) but you haven't removed the circlips

Possible one doesn't exist then and its just a case of being stubborn but its happened to me, almost buried the circlip under the bearing, once I pushed the bearing back home (gently) I saw it and took all of 2 mins to remove both bearings afterwards
