What a suprise a idiot of a police officer.
Personally i'd have his badge for this **** up. As far as i'm aware ANY accident must be reported to your insurance to not do so is illegal (i may be wrong!). Might be a common theme though, the officer attending my accident advised me to settle privately as it was cleary no ones fault (yet i won the claim 100%). Maybe it saves on paperwork for him. Good luck to him though i know his pain all to well!! |

I'd have thought the attending officer would pretty much just be saying what he thought each party wanted to hear. Essentially he's done the victim a favour as he now has contact with the car driver.
