Hmm, depends on how badly you want into that line of work I suppose. Weigh it up though, don't just think about the social side of things. Think of like, are you willing to make the sacrifice for a couple of years in order to bag yourself a good career, plenty of dough etc etc??

Barwel, how do you think people get well paid jobs in this world, because they make sacrifices at your age to better themselves.
Getting somewhere in life is a hard slog, and then sometimes you get sweet FA at the end of it, but at least you can say you've done something worth achieving on your CV.
Listen I'm 33, decided to take a year out after studying which did my head in, and never got to do the degree that I was to take...I severly regret that decision for the rest of my life, as now people just look and think I'm not overly educated. Get off yer lazy arris and bite the bullet.
My ex partner slogged away at an engineering degree when half his hip was in decay, and worked nights over a weekend at the same time. Unfortunately his hip fooked up in his last year, but he achieved the degree non the less, having to take time out to recover, after finally finishing just stalled his chances for a job, and he finds it hard to leave the company we work for....after two years he still hasn't given up.

You sonny just don't know which way yer breads buttered on!

TBH, from the way you are talking, I don't think you should take a spot on the course. It sounds to me like you are not enthusiastic or dedicated enough and as such, it would be a waste because you would be taking up a position that someone else, who wants it more, could have.

Are you not an adult that can make your own decisions, get rid of the silver spoon and stand on your own two feet. By all means chat to your parents, but they can't make a decision for you.

Was thinking the same thing TBH. Why take someone like Barwel on, they'll be hedging bets to see how long it'll take him to turn up all week.

Barwel, if you are doubting now, then don't bother. You are stopping someone else froma a life changing experience.

I started my current career when I was 19. I had to make LOADS of sacrifices and tbh, I am glad I did. I am a much more mature, level headed person for it. I have my own money, can spend it the way I like, good career and good prospects. But I worked for it.

Barwel, and don't take this the wrong way, but you do come across, like Dizz says, like you have a silver spoon in your mouth. You are going to have to stand on your own two feet. Not everything is handed to you in life and **SHOCK!! HORROR** you actually might have to work for something!

before hand i was very enthusiastic, and whats making me unenthusiastic now is the dedication thats needed, i had no idea what level of dedication was needed, maybe if i was told what they told me today in the first place i would have thought twice about applying for the course because im not sure that i am dedicated enough for that sort of course.

As i have already sead i need to talk to my mum n dad about the whole thing, NOTE talk not ask them to decide for me .......

You need dedication for any sort of job, apprenticeship or course. Do you really think you can do something without hard work and dedication?

You are unenthusiastic because you expected to do it with minimal effort, and you now realise you will have to work hard at it.

So what sort of course do you think you will be dedictated to?, because from where I'm looking I don't think anything is suitable with the attitude you have towards this one.

Bah man up!

Got a v. good oppertunity(sp), will lead to good things, good reference for applying to jobs in the future, future employers will look at it and think you held down a demanding job and the guy has a bit of go about him.
