Default Help - Is my bike getting stolen tonight???

They say bad things happen in three's. So far, puncture on saturday, yesterday a car knocks bike on the floor and snaps foot peg, tonight I get home to see a guy sat in his car on the corner of my road. I pop indoors to get my chain and when I go back out this young black guy is walking on the opposite side of the road towards me. When he sees me and the bike (which is partially hidden from view by my car) he turns back to his car and drives off He was there when I arrived. Stayed in his car until I left the bike to go indoors for a bit. Just incase I got his registration. It was a new black Audi I think. The bike lives on the road with a cover, alarm, disc lock and back wheel XL hardcore chained to a lamp post.

Is it likely its gonna get stolen tonight?

Is it a nice night for camping with a bat or shot gun. When my garage got dun over (never got bikes just tools) i slept in the garage for 2 nights as it wasn't secured with my dog and pick axe handle. Really wished they'd called back!!!!!

Why not call the locals, it will go down as a suspicious incident, pass the reg and they will run it through. If it is linked or known they may pay passing attention to your area during the night.

Thats what we do anyways ... just a thought. Do as much as you can to get a good nights kip and keep little toe rags at bay

Might try that. Would they really run the reg through or just tell me call back when its stolen?

They should chek it out even if just a check on the reg, they wouldnt tell you the outcome of the check but if there is a PNC marker on the car or anything on their intel system they would be more likely to drive around your area if they get the chance, or if they saw that car they may pull it as a regular stop check and deterrent.

Also if ya bike does go they got your report the night before of a suspicious car.

Wow. very nice plod. Took all the details and said dont worry too much. If it does get nicked, they will try and find it. Not much else to do I guess. Just to be safe though the Mrs was kind enough to let me keep the bike in the house overnight
