I like it Claire.

My mum asked me if I would be dedicating it to anyone because If I chose one of our lost family members, it might cause questions over why I chose Elly not Ellen or why I chose Nan not Grandad or why I haven't mentioned Uncle Martyn or Uncle Eddie and the list, unfortunately goes on. In truth, I come from a pretty big, but incredibly close family. We've lost a lot of family members as some people on here know and when I have thought about who my inspiration for the book it, it has not really been one person or another, but the collective family. Throughout all the moments of sadness and grief, we, as a family have never had any issues, arguments, frustrations with each other or moments of loneliness. We have always gathered around. Another massively important thing in my family has been gathering around food. Never a Sunday went by that we didn't either have a roast dinner together a our own family homes, or all together with all the mums cooking together. Before Elly died, every year we would go to the pic nic site at the top of wentwood forest and have a massive family BBQ. After Elly's death though, probably because of how young she was, we never did that again, but we would still always have our get togethers. I don't want to preach on the virtues of good old fashioned family values, but I do think there is a lot to be said for how food can bring a family together around a table to just be a family for 30 minutes before all going off and doing your own things.

I prefer the fire pit method myself. Being cooked under a couple of feet of earth stops the initial aromas putting you off your meal.

Yes, there will be a whole page dedicated to how to get perfect home chips.
