I'd just reserve judgement until I've ridden it myself though, it's a ZX10 for christ sake ![]() Here's the youtube linky: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fADBQD3t8W8 Last edited by kaivalagi; 04-02-11 at 08:22 AM. |

I saw the vid. But I am nowhere near in the same bracket as those riders. I'd never ride any litre bike to those sort of standards as to really realise there was a difference between any of them. Riding that hard and fast on any of those bikes would scare me silly. I like the ZX10 for the electronics it has on it, it looks bloody awesome. For me that's enough. It'll always have way more to give than I would ever want to use.
As for a test ride. When I am seriously in the market to get a new bike, then I'll take one for a test ride. Not going to torture myself by riding one and not being able to afford to buy one. That would just make the want all the more painful knowing I can't have it. On the flip side of that, I may go out and test one and decide I actually don't like it and then the dream will be shattered. ![]() |

Too true, use it all and die most likely
They say the power comes in high up the rev range which might not be such a bad thing...it would mean you would have a mild mannered bike for the most part and if you wanted serious grunt just drop a gear and twist a little more ![]() What would life be without the dreams aye, I am still dreaming of a KTM RC8 even though realistically if I could afford one I probably would buy an SMT or adventure instead for longer more comfortable rides... |

My old YZF750 likes to work best in the high rev range and when getting it up there, it performs very well. Not bad at all for a 15 year old bike.
![]() The ZX10 just ticks all my boxes. Being the 'best performance' 1000cc bike out there, isn't one of the boxes. So couldn't care less what MCN say about it. ![]() |

TBH if anything I'd want a slightly bigger sized v-twin, about a 750 or so, just so I can be an even lazier rider with all that low end grunt...or just add a couple of teeth on the rear sprocket...who needs more than 100mph anyway... edit: I keep coming back to the KTM SMT and Aprilia Tuono, those will be test ridden someday soon just so I know what's on offer Last edited by kaivalagi; 04-02-11 at 10:26 AM. |

Fact is I have passed guys on pretty much every bike going and been passed by guys also on pretty much every bike going including ones with much less power, including a CG125 when I was stranded spinning in snow, lol. (But I was on the GPZ so it was about even in power terms
![]() Performance is nice if you're on the motorway or an open road and want lazy power, but you'll never see the best of it. That would remove the fun of it for me, but hey horses for courses.
