Apologies if this has been asked before, but I've tried searching both in here and in Google and never seem to find the answer I am looking for.
I know that aftermarket exhausts with the baffle removed sound awesome. But what about with the baffle still in? Do they sound better than the standard exhaust? I am looking to buy my first SV and would prefer one that has an upgraded exhaust already fitted, but I would still like to be road legal as a novice rider. The websites I have looked at state that the sound is good with the baffle still in. I just wanted the opinion of people who have tried them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Wayne |

Simple answer is yes, they definitely sound better than standard with the baffle in. Even better without.
Personally thought I wouldn't just look at bikes already with an aftermarket can. Many excellent sounding cans are available for not a great deal of money - Fuel, Beowulf etc can probably be bought for around £150 or possibly less. |

For every video I watched and thought "Yeah, that sounds much better than standard", I would watch another that sounded terrible. So I can only conclude that it depends on the sound quality of the video. |

I did the same and I can assure you the sound on the Youtube clips is nothing like the reality. I was grinning from ear to ear I soon as I finished fitting - that was with the baffle still in.
The only thing to think about as far as I was concerned was what look I wanted to go for. The shorter cans like mine seem to sound a bit raspier and the longer versions have a bit more of a rumble to them. Personal preference is all it comes down to though. |

I've just got my bike back after a rear end shunt, complete with a new, shiny, carbon oval Scorpion (this replaced the damaged Micron). It sounds awesome and rolling off the throttle the fuel pops which makes it even better. With the baffle out it is fan effing tastic. And I love the sound so much that I've stopped wearing ear plugs to work so I can hear more.
