Default Visit Bolivia

As per Binky’s post.

Visit Bolivia. You wont be disappointed!

La Paz.

Bolivian Altiplano

Border post between Chile and Bolivia

The Uyuni Salt Flats

And the resulting salt damage

Incahuasi Island. An island of giant cacti in the salt flats.

Salt hotel

Isla del Sol, Lake Titicaca

Chacaltaya Mountain, about 75km out of La Paz. The air was noticeably thinner at 5300m

It was a very steep climb to the top…

But I made it!

Same here. The Bolivian highlands reminded me so much of travelling through Africa.

Hopefully, Kilimanjaro!

Anyway, more pics.

San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. A very quaint, adobe town.

Valle de la Luna.

Watching the sun set over the Moon Valley is stunning.

The El Tatio Geysers

We left our hotel at 0400 so we could arrive in time to watch the sun rise. Stunning but bloody cold!! -15 celcius at an altitude of 4200m with only two barely there layers on my top half and one layer bottom half. I was frozen!

A thermal pool to warm up

Or just point your bum in the direction of some hot air

The train cemetery in Bolivia. A really fab place to hang out if you’re into that sort of thing.

Main square in La Paz

This made me giggle

The Witches Market, La Paz

Then on to Peru…
