Again thank you so much everybody for your good wishes, it really does mean a lot and Dave sends huge thankyou`s to all of you.

Today has painted a slightly better picture in that they`ve brought in another orthopaedic surgeon who has been more reassuring and feels she`ll be able to repair the damage to the right wrist and amputation won`t be necessary. Thank god they`ve bought her in is all i`ll say cos left in the hands of the other guy doesn`t bear thinking about. Also with it being a female surgeon she`ll obviously do a far neater job

Pain wise he has really good pain control now and the nursing staff are actually giving him what he needs and as often as he needs it without question so he`s sleeping better and is less agitated.

I went to see his bike this morning and thought there was more damage than maybe Dave realised but he seems ok about it..... from what I could see together with John the bikeshop owner it seems he`ll need new upper fairing panels, new alternator cover, new footrest, new mirror ? fairing brackets and he has marks from his leathers on the tail piece which may t cut out. Tank is untouched and John is sure the handlebars and frame are ok. Problem is that with it being a limited edition replica the paint job is quite unique in that what looks like stickers on the fairing etc are actually painted on so i`m guessing any paint job is gonna cost lots. John has given him the number of a solicitor who specialises in motorbike claims so it`s worth giving it a shot as he`s got 3 witnesses who all say the woman braked unneccessarily and the woman also claimed it was her fault to the policemen who attended at the scene.

Main thing tho is that the damage is repairable, and despite his injuries it could`ve been a lot worse.

Hope my text this morning helped. And I'm glad theres been a second opinion. Theres always a second opinion needed.

As for the bike, stuff it, hes more important, these bloody power rangers and their fancy paint work and leathers!!

PS, Pete says he might need to go commando, can't be having his undercrackers stuck up his ar$e in bed, and he can't pull em out!!!!

I don't think I need to say how he knows

Personally I think this was just Dave's way of securing Claire in her best nursey outfit for the forseeable future, some men will do ANYTHING for such luxuries
