Cheers for the replies everyone. Will have a look at those sites. Will I not need primer then? Just the two shades of yellow then the clear lacquer.

With regards to quantity, how much should I look to be buying? on rsbikepaints they give 250ml, 500ml and 1L options of the basepaint, paint and lacquer. As long as it's the exact colour I'd only be repainting the tank, and two front fairings (left and right), lowers, hugger and front mudguard. The seat cowl and rear fairings arent damaged at all so don't need anything doing to them.

No primer needed just use 800 wet and dry with soapy water to flat the panels ie take the shine off then put a few coats of the yellow base so all the panels are the same shade. The next layer which is the pearl is very transparent so give each panel the same number of coats then it's the clearcoat.
I would say 1ltr base 1/2ltr pearl and 1ltr clear. You will have some left to repair any issues that may happen. |

Christ with RSbikepaints that would bring the total to £170 for the paints :s
I'll have a look at automotivepaintsupplies aswell and see what they'll charge. Anyone else got any brand recommendations? Got to say happysv that your bike looks incredible! Cheers! |

What colours don't require a base coat?

Most are base with clearcoat these days but can get some basic colours in solids like white , red etc.
