Yea, but can you imagine somebody my age watching the original?

Not really.

I only saw it in the late 90's, still thought it was good (but then I remember 80's computer games) and still think the plot is better than the new one.

I saw TRON at the cinema on original release

It was the 1st film I saw without a parent taking me (my older cousin took me)

So I would have been about 9 when I first saw it
