I'm a sad sod. Two things excited me today.
Firstly, I saw my first Orange Tip butterflies of this year in my front garden on the honesty. Not a brilliant picture, but I rushed to get it before it flew away. ![]() Secondly, I finally saw a frog in my pond, the first one since I built the pond the year before last. I did try to get a picture, but it ducked back into the pond before I got the chance. My little wild area is currently looking pretty lush after the rain. ![]()

The gorse around here has been truly spectacular this year. The air is full of that lovely coconut smell.
This is one stretch Mabel and I walk past quite often. ![]() ![]() The view from Danny's Bench near the Lonely Pile of Firewood, formerly known as the Lonely Tree ![]()

Picked up a Sony NEX 3n and took it for a spin today. Lots of settings and controls to learn, but so far impressed, especially it's low light ability. Tiny little camera with a whopping APS-C sensor.

Isn't the NEX the forerunner to the A6xxx series? Sony does some pretty good glass for their APS-C cameras, assuming it takes the same E-Mount as my A6600.

Yes, the Nex range predates the Alpha xxxx range. Mine was the last Nex type they did before moving on to the A5000 and beyond. I did want an A5000 but couldn't find one at a good price. Mine came with the 16-50 powerzoom lens, I could have opted for the Nex 5, but the 3n had the zoom control around the shutter button like a point and shoot camera. Makes it a lot easier to use one handed, this became standard from the A5000 one but the 3n was the only one to have it. It lacks WiFi transfer and control, but tbh it's not a feature I make use of. I also picked up a Nikon 1 S1 too. It's a tiny interchangeable lens camera with their one inch CX sensor. Pretty cool little thing.
