Well, I've no idea who you are Kate, and you've no idea who I am, so this is probably a rather hollow sentiment, but I feel for you, and am very glad you made it out the other side as well as you did. I kind of cringe even thinking of being in that situation.
(One of the great things about biking comunities is that people you don't know offer support, advice and help, to someone they don't know. I've not really got used to it yet.)

For what it's worth, I have found that Cadburys Mini Eggs eaten by the bucket load help recovery from all sorts of ills, and I've no reason to think this is any different, so give it a go.

Not a chance

Seriously, I'm going to be well nervous when I can get back on a bike but I'll still be getting back on it again.

Glad you're here to tell us about it, and that any, hopefully minor, aches and pains are soon gone.

I would just like to second what rpwoodman said (first part anyway as I have never tried the Cadburys Mini Eggs remedy).
Hope you get well soon.

I think we all need to try the mini egg remedy. In fact, I think I'll get some more today

Hope you get fixed soon. Bruising might take longer than you think to go and you should keep a record of anything you find difficulty with no matter how trivial it may seem. The main thing is you're ok.

Just found this..jeez kate glad you were lucky

Saw the pics....man i know that feeling, i saved up for a year to buy a car i wanted, and dragged the front of it along a wall 2 weeks later on icy roads....damn turbos and rear wheel drive.....

Anyway..nobody badly injured in either case, the rest is just time and money.

Its official, Phantom is a write-off

I haven't seen the estimate yet but just had a call from the garage to let me know that the frame is twisted, the headstop? Apparently the estimate runs over two pages

I had planned to get a different bike anyway, but it still saddens me that my lovely lovely SV is no more.

Still, on the bright side....New bike time!
