Religion is a excuse for those that can't accept the truth.

Bad people do bad things it was the work of the Devil... no people are bad.
A good things happen it was the work of god... no people can also be good.

If you knew when you died nothing would happen, would you then be so willing to die for something like religion?

There are so many reasons that I can think of why its such a bad thing I just don't have the time to write it all.

But we all have the freedom to choose and I respect that, but don't expect me to listen to the dribble about it all.

if you get into this whole religion thing i also dont believe any of it but don't begrudge those that do however even i find it really hard to contemplate me not existing like what will happen to my conscious thought after i'm gone scares the crap outta me when i think about it anybody else get this.

not really, before i was born i spent the previous 14 billion years not existing, there's no reason to think not existing after i die will be any worse

I dont know if this has been said before but Richard Dawkins God delusion is an excellent book for those he do and dont belief.

I am an atheist through and through and I find it hard to understand that anyone with any modicum of intelligence would beleive in a god as nearly all world faiths beleive in. (i.e. an omnipitent being who listens to prayers, grants eternal life to the good, punishes evil etc..) That said I know of many scientists, politicians etc. who do beleive in a God in this way.

This is what makes me laugh when you get American celebrities who thank god for their talents. So this means that god cant stop people dying in their thousands in a famine becuase hes too busy giving a baby in america a singing voice. It makes no sense.

Another great one is grace before eating, so god is personally responsible for the food on the table and yet we dont hold him responsible for the death of a palestinian baby in a supposed safe house?? Again, makes no sense.

My last one is this. God exists and two men who have just died come before him. Both have lived almost identical lifes in how good they have been to there fellow man. One has done this as a devout christian and has therefore done all these good things in the name of God. The second is a complete Aetheist but has been good never the less and that is how he got the most hapiness and forfillment out of his life. So in this scenario if the Christian beleives that the non beleiver will not granted eternal life it would suggest that God is vengeful and selfish as he only wants people to be good in homage it him. If the christian believes that God would let him in, then why do you have to acknowledge his existence in the first place, ergo he doesnt need to exist in our life when we are alive, therefore he doesnt exist.

So instead look at the Christian faith as a moral code, all the stories in the bible as stories with a moral behind them there to teach a lesson.
