Upto a point... Remember that Motorcycle oil is made to care for the gearbox as well, most car oil isnt (at least on rear wheel drives I know engine/gearbox oil is separate, dont know about front?) so that might make a difference.

I can't think of any cages offhand that use engine oil in gearbox, including FWDs, RWDs and landys.

But AFAIK the differences in additive pack formulation are tiny.

Hmmpfff... Sportsbike riders...

My other bike is a beemer (dry clutch btw). I don't get what there is not to get... unless it is the sticker shock. That was enough to give me pause, but there are few bikes that can honestly do what that bike is capable of doing. ie hauling a mountain of gear plus my tubby butt across anything, day in day out. I find it hard to fault.
It'll finish the year with a little over 300k miles on the clock (trying that on most other makes would only lead to disappointment) which eases the purchase cost by about half.
The biggest problem that BMV has are the whinging, whining weenies to whom they sell these bikes.

Cheers

impressive! Most cars don't do that sort of mileage.

There are a few around with considerably more, but that'll be it for this one. As I said, by the end of the year... Currently sits at ~260k.
I'd be lying if I said I haven't spent money keeping it in good shape.

Cheers
