Mark

If you have time to go to Buckley, try Steve at F & B Tyres

01270 760795

In a place called Wheelock (just outside Sandbach)

Steve, charges list price for the tyres but you get them fitted for nowt, he does a top job and is generally very reasonable. It is cash or cheque only though.....

If you search the forum you will find plenty of recommendations for him.

Pressures? Bike otherwise healthy?

Having gone past the fifty mile mark now the front seems much better which has made me feel lots more confident and less self concious allowing me to relax a bit more. I think it was just a ludicrously slippery new tyre.

Will recheck pressures on friday when I top up as a matter of course anyhoo...

Buckley Tyres make you sign a disclaimer on their forms when you pay for the tyre that you understand to take it easy for the first 200 miles . The guys say that the manufacturers ask for this now as some tyres can have a bit of a "Skin" on them when moulded that needs to be worn through a bit .............. I often wonder what happens when you get cranked right over to the edge onto that teeny bit of strip left that might be a bit iffy .

Then again I get back from rides and look at the tyres and think "Blimey , only a couple of millimetres to go and I`m off those babys"

Seems to be getting them hot that does the scrubbing rather than physical abrasion.

Not got a chance of getting hot in this weather has it , maybe a tad tepid with even the progressive riders . I went to Betwys-Y-Coed last night and gave it some stick on the way back as the tyre was bedded in nicely , when I got home to the front door they were lukewarm but starting to scrub up a bit .
