This thread is too dangerous to reply to, if my wife saw the answer my ears would be aching right into 2008.

OMG probally where most of my spare money has gone;

Training and test £600-700
Gear Over £1000 that includes 2 lids, 2 pairs of boots, leathers and textiles don't ask just how much.
First bike £720, sold for £800 but spent err spent about £200 on it
Accesiors err £120 ish
Insurance 125 £175, for SV £99 this year
Heated grips £50 inc fitting, well worth it.
First service, £30 ish

I'm sure there is more, but don't wanna think about it.

Oh I pay for SV montly, couldn't afford my new bike otherwise.

I'm not spending much on fuel in the winter, as I tend just to ride to work, though car is greedy.

I have spent a lot probally too much, but I love my bike, have made some great friends, so you can't put a price on that. Oh yeah I love my bike
The SV was so the right bike for me to get, so yeah its worth it and I have most of road gear now and stuff I need for the bike.

I have rode what 4500 miles this year across 2 bikes, since ( 34 days off due surgery as well) its been just awesome...I can't wait to summer then I can find out what me and my bike can really do!

(Worryingly that doesn't include the cost of the depreciation... which is about £2800 on top of that!!)

Glade your insurance is high!

Its the setting up costs which are most expensive all the people in their first year are £5k+

Next year will be cheaper, depending on how many trackdays i do and whether or not i bin it , it could end up more expensive lol

New SV650 plus bling bits, insurance, initial kit, DAS and CBT, theory test : £6200
DRZ400SM, insurance, repairs, parts from the US : £3260
Fuel (4000 miles @ £12 a tank and 120m until fillup) = £400
Misc costs, punctures, new kit, exhaust, tools, consumables etc etc = ~£1000

TOTAL = £11,430

that's genuinely scary

but the smile is priceless

Hmm, lets see

Bought both current bikes: £5k
2500 miles in petrol: £320
Bought a new lid: £300
Insured both: £400

Total: £6k

That's about it really. Not an expensive year, all things considered, and at least £4k of that is made of retained assets.

I pay £45 a month at the moment so i don't notice it - but i do need to look into it.

I have 2 years NCB on Ebike's accelerator e.g. they give you 1 NCB every 8 months, but with other insurers I would only currently have 1 year bike NCB.
