I would probably wait until the new year when the specials come out. The prices will come down due to the new years model release and Aprilia have run a 0% finance deal for the last few years so chances it will happen again.

Well its going to have to wait untill march unfortuantly, but i want a ble and white one, which is the only colour they are carrying over into 07/08 colours!! The 0% sounds interesting but if they put the prices back up to 7K it might make it expensive... any way still love it & cant shut up about it, boring all my familly now to the point of being told where to go! any hoo.. keep saving |

The little screen is surprisingly effective and you can get a slightly different screen that offers a bit more protection.
I've turned my SV into a track/race bike now and the Tuono pushed all the buttons as a replacement road bike. They are suprisingly comfortable and you don't see them all over the place. Fit some sliders to it and radiator/oil guards, you really don't want to have to replace one of those. |

I've had an RSV-R '07 since May and it's a fantastic bike.
To be honest, there's not much difference above 6K, it's just more of the same. You don't get a noticeable step in power like you might on an IL4. If you're thinking of using it for commuting there's a few things to keep in mind. I think the Tuonos are geared down slightly compared to the RSVs, which is a good thing. I got mine fitted with a one tooth-smaller front sprocket which makes it possible to ride below 30mph without slipping the clutch. Hopefully you won't have that problem. Mine gets stinking hot unless it's doing 50mph or above, roasting the inside of my right leg in particular as the exhaust from the rear cylinder heats up the subframe. I've had no problems with mine apart from the fact it was delivered to the dealer without an owners manual and they're still waiting for one to come over from Italy. Luckily you can download them from the net. Get the dealer to setup the suspension for you, as that can make a big difference. They did mine after the running-in period. Before that, it was stiff as a board, now it's a lot more compliant. One good thing about the Tuono is that you won't have to strip off half the fairing to top it up with oil, should it need it. (Mine drinks a little bit). The other thing to be aware of is that the back brake is useless. There is a new method of bleeding it that the dealer should be aware of, so try and get them to do that for you. The clutch also needs regular bleeding on many RSVs/Tuonos -- it does on mine -- but that's a 60-second job to sort out. I tend to have to do it every 700 to 1,000 miles. They're fantastic bikes and Aprilia have now got most of the earlier niggles sorted out. Apart from the bleeding, the clutches are reliable and much lighter than they used to be. I've had no problems with my electrics despite plenty of riding in the rain. I hope you manage to save up and enjoy a fantastic motorcycle.
