One of my textile jackets is a Buffalo and i have no complaints other than the armour which seemed to be man size armour in a female jacket. Once i`d changed the armour I couldn`t complain.... is about 5 years old and looks as good as new. The sizing is a bit on the big side but i`m not complaining at wearing an xxs jacket and will gladly let the label hang out lol

here, when you are talking about Buffalo Jackets, are you talking about the mountaineering ones the UK military use?
These ones :

If so, I had no idea that they made jackets with armour.
They are great jackets though. The best jacket I have owned I would say in fact. Amazingly warm. Mine is 10 years old now, and its been dragged through Scotland, Wales, all over Ireland, the Patagonian Andes, upstate NY, and -40C in Norway.

I do need a new one at this point though.

hmmmmmmm, my experience is diff to most bods then.......

i got buffalo stuff when i first started riding, yo be honest i was so big then that it was the only stuff that fit,
the stuff i got was mid range , jacket about£100 trews about£80 gloves £25

the jacket fit ok, and was pretty windproof bu tlet a lot of water in (supposed to be 100% waterproof) decent enough armour, crap back protector though

the trousers werent bad, except they leaked a lot round the crotch, and they fell apart , the stitching was quite bad nr the pockets and crotch, and the fabric started to fray apart, the linings were very fragile and tore easy they were quite good in the cold though,

the gloves were ok, not totally waterproof but not bad, and they were ok for warmth till it got below about 8deg, then they were terrible,

i have looked at some of there newer gear, and it looks ok, but i much prefer the IXS stuff i have now, no complaints at all, but at £140 for trews and £200 for a jacket, they arent in the same price bracket so prob unfair to compare.

I have buffalo summer gloves. I know this thread is really about the jackets and trousers, but my experiance has been that they were comfy, but did not ware well. I never crashed in them but when it came time to get out my winter gloves this year, i noticed that the stitching was coming undone already after one years use! Not good, I wouldn't wear then now as i'm worried thay might disintegrate in a crash!

I bought some buffalo trousers last year. So far they are fine. Waterproof but then i havent ridden in heavy rain in them, and yes thats over the year. They are freying at the bottom of the legs and the system they use to hold the linner in at the bottom keeps coming undone. But for £60 i dont expect anything more!

They came with Knox armour on the knees which doesnt seem to sit right, but they are comfortable and warm.

Thanks to who left there opinions. The reason i was thinking of getting some textile clothing was for a bit more convinence (waterproof, pockets) While i was out looking, i went into Hein Gericke and endded up buying a new leather jacket, It's 3/4 length has pockets removable liner and has some kind of coating that stops it heating up in the summer which gives it a slight grey look It had been reduced down buy £100. and it looks cool as well. Thanks again for all your comments. Skez

Not the Tricky II is it? I'm thinking of getting that, but if I know rightly, Hein Gericke are made for those who enjoyed christmas a little more than they should have!

I don't think it is, all the label say's is cool 3/4 black leather jacket. It looks slightly grey due to some treatment it's had.
