Cool, sounds like you got your head screwed on about it all. Anyone offered to come along with you for the whole trip?

there's a lad who fancies part of the trip - when we reach Kazak he'll probably head towards the Karakoram Highway. (the highest highway int' world apparently).

Soem other people may be doing a similar trip at around the same time (in a car) so I may meet up with them on the road. Some people will be heading off West from Vladivostik so I may bump into them on the road for a brew too.

Good tip for ya, see if you can get hold of a second license and also enquire about duplicate passports, Ive done a bit of continental trucking in the past and a lot of the old hands used to carry up to 3 passports for some of the dodgier parts of europe.

passport office i suppose, it used to be quite common for drivers goin out to the middle east to carry 3 or more passports so if they had one confiscated thet could still get out of the region, ironically, one of the worst places to drive was Italy , to get into Italy you needed a passport and cigarettes and booze to get you over the border and hijacking used to common in Italy, also if you do get multiple passports make sure you use them in rotation, you dont want to end up in kginghistan with a completely blank passport, they might think you,re a spy you,ll be ok

Unless I run out of money.
Europe and Romania then...

Very good for you

Good choice of bike too, easy for spares and bits, tried and tested, fairly simple.

Oh yes.

I haven't got one as the countries I'm visiting don't need one! I chose Korea over Japan as Japan has a 150% (refundable) import tax....and I don't *think* the koreans do.
