Don't bet on it. A friend of mine had a bike stolen, they lifted it over his car.

What!!! well my bike alarm would go off and the alarm "interferes" with my door bell so i`d have the bike alarm plus the door bell to wake me up.

In seriousness tho it just shows how desperate some people are... i`ll start chaining the bike up and get the ground anchor fitted

some folks will stop at nothing. Friend had his CBR600 stolen in York. It was in the garage (alarmed) chained up to the wall with the car parked in the garage. Garage was locked.

They opened the garage, moved the car, got chain off bike, disabled alarm and took the bike out over the back fence so as not to be seen.........

A ground anchor and chain will stop the opportunist and semi-professional thief but not one who really wants your bike. IMHO all physical security does is try to persuade the tealeaf to go after the bike down the road cos it's easier......

Quiff, if the new owner of the house has no need for the anchor, you might as well give it a go with HSS drill bits on a slow setting.

Unless it's seriously hardened steel, and so long as you take it really steady, I reckon it'll probably come out.

If you have the spare time & you're determined to take it with you, spot weld the head of the bolt in place, then it aint going to be spinning anywhere. (Old lead based solder might even be strong enough if you're drilling slow enough).

My thinking too.

I keep it chained though.

As well as the angle you took, I was also thinking about Liverpool's rep.
