I think that's absolutely despicable

Not only does her son run the risk of having his licence revoked (should he get 3 points or have another 3 points "forced upon him" by his mother within the first two years of passing his test), but it'll also hurt her son/your daughters insurance premium!!

And all because the stupid cow can't learn her lesson?!?

I ain't no saint, but I haven't been nicked for speeding for 6 years now, and that was a rather unfortunate pull as I genuinely wasn't aware of the speed limit (30mph on a dual carriageway - coming out of a 50 - i missed the 30 signs), and prior to that it was a further 8 years ago that I was nicked for speeding!

You either learn your lesson, or wise-up to the risks and the locations of cameras (FFS - they are SUPPOSED to be signposted these days so you can hardly miss them!).

If you get caught, take it on the chin!!
Her observation skills are lacking badly, and she's a coward IMO.

+1 about the observation.

As for coward, maybe she needs to drive for work etc. Being banned is no fun.

it's really taking the pi$$ for even considering to ask someone. points on the licence are going to remain for a while, each time they get insurance they will have to declare it, that puts the cost up on most occasions.
The other issue is with the person then getting the points themselves if they get caught. her son can only get 6 points in the first 2 years after passing his test, so he might be loosing his licence if he gets more.

No it's all wrong

If she needs to drive for work god help us ... that means she (and her poor observation skills) will be on the road even more! Eeeeek!!!
If she HAS to drive for work, then you do everything you can to protect that which provides a living.

There are exceptions ... my dad (RIP) when he was a HGV driver, he amassed something like 13 points ... but they weren't ALL for speeding. One penalty was for failing to stop at the scene of an accident (he'd knocked a sheep down and didn't realise he was legally obliged to inform the police). He had some penalties for speeding and some for parking offences.
As it was his sole means of earning a living, the judge suspended his points for 2 years - meaning he still had 10 points on his licence but was required not to commit a further offence within 2 years (something like that).

But to get done 5 TIMES for speeding IF you drive for a living is a tad careless to say the least.

can you not retract the statement in the NIP, force it to go to court prove she is lying and get her banned??

She doesn't drive for a living but she does need to drive for work

She's a solicitor who has to get round to see her clients and get to the relevant courts!!

No point in getting angry I suppose. What I would really, really like her to do is recognise she's a fool who needs to seriously consider her driving style and particularly her observation. I'm not simply saying slow down cos I drive too fast at times. But I like to think I do it more safely and with regard for the cameras. I don't have any speeding points on my license

A solicitor ... ha then she should know better ... banning her may force her to reassess her driving in that case. She doesn't NEED a car for work - there's public transport and taxis (which she could/would probably charge to her clients anyway)
