They come up between the cylinders to the airbox, there's 2 of them attatched to the part of the airbox stuck down from the "main bit" (that's the catch can for the oil that ends up chucked up)

If you look through the frame from the left, through the rearmost triangle, you should be able to see both hoses- they're black rubber, running more or less vertically, about 3 inches apart. Once goes forwards and down, the other goes... Somewhere else. More often than not they come loose at the top.

quick update - it would seem that the problem was the breather pipe.

got at it from the right hand side & managed to force it back on (not easy when its covered in oil)

not sure the little clip that holdsit in place is correctly positioned so will keep an eye on that (might need a bigger boy to force it into position for me)

can i jetwash the engine to remove all the oil?

I tend to use spray on degreaser that I get from Halfords, don't like to pressure wash. I spray the degreaser on and wipe it off with a soapy rag when cleaning the bike.
