cleaning products

My bike cleaning regime is as follows:

Rinse off with hose or jet wash on low power setting,
Spray on a bike cleaner such as autogleam, leave agitate with a brush on metal bits like swing arm forks etc and rub in on paintwork and farings with sponge.
Rinse
Wash bike using a sponge and either autogleam or crystalglo bike shampoo.
Rinse
Clean brakes and disks with brake spray, agitate and rinse off.
Chamois the whole bike off and start engine ro warm through the hidden bits and evaporate any water.
Cover the engine and everything except the tank and plastics with FS365.
Use a paint brush to apply ACF50 to all exposed metal bolts etc, including the brake calliper ones (by using a tiny paint brush), but making sure there is no spillage onto the pads or disks.
Apply bike polish to all metal work and plastics.
Stand back and admire my work and that the bike looks like it is just out the showroom.

This takes about 2 hours. And I do it every time I go out in the winter/wet, and every 4/5th ride in the summer.

Quick rinse with a hose
Spray of Hein Gericke gel cleaner
Wipe over with a sponge
Rinse with a hose

Chain then gets toothbrushed with parafin
Wipe dry

Whilst the chain is drying I chamois the bodywork and polish with furniture polish.

Relube chain
Furniture polish the wheels

.. thanks jester I was mainly asking as a mate of mine in work wanted to clean his BMW and wanted to know the best stuff for getting the gunk of the cylinder cover .. i suggested WD40 and a toothbrush but he didnt believe me.

Oh right, I see.

I wait until something is worn out or is bent (from crashing), and I replace that part. That bit is then clean for a while.

I also noticed I had silver wheels when they changed my tyres last.

You all may have noticed that Dan has a very clean bike at the moment

Muc off and WD40 work for me, although I need to find a better method for cleaning the chain.

Best way to clean it IMO!

Saves water, no nasty chemicals entering the environment!

I saw there was a product in a different thread, spray on, leave for abit, rince off = nice and clean. does anyone know what im on about or products like it? for cleaning the engine area.
