IMHO yes you would, it is definitely an open roads bike. Get it up in the VTEC range and keep it there, awesome. The induction roar is addictive.

Badly tuned / set up. Snatchy low revs throttle is well known and needs the starter valves correctly synchronised. Mine is always much better after a service. Same with the VTEC, the second set of valves opening up seems to need synching to the fueling map very closely.

Only with the VTEC in action I got 170 miles from a tank yesterday. I regularly got over 220KM to a tank in France.

Horses for courses, I like the ability to tour and the bike has more than enough scratching potential for me. Have not decked anything out yet, even though almost to the edge of the tyres.

I have to point out once again that I think it IS a cracking bike, just not the one for me.

I HAVE had it further cranked over in corners than the SV and so the potential is there.

However my main focus has to be getting to work in the morning which is 4 miles of stop-start filtering.

New bike should be here in the week, so getting rid of the Viffer

And I see why you called yours "Whispering Death" its embarrasing that when stopped at lights, the rad fans are louder than the engine idling

All thanks to MotoSelect in Farnham - top dealer, please support them
Was it the 2008 Fireblade? cos I got a letter from them saying they're launching the 2008 model at 18:00 on the 21st, also got a voucher to spend in their new clothing store.

Forget that it's an "all rounder", treat it like a SS600, give it some stick and you will be rewarded.... To get the "best" out of a VFR it needs some input, which stops it from being dull. It can do sensible all day if you need it to.

I have taken two or three on longish test rides (4 hours once) and I think they are fantastic bikes, they just need to be understood

Yes, don't know why they let us all ride them before launch, but it was great of them to do so.

Use the Soulkiss VFR simulator

Get a sewing machine, set it up next to your sofa.

Put a book on the pedal to make it go/make a noise.

Open the windows and doors for an outdoorsy feeling.

Put on your bike kit.

Sit on the sofa.

Thats it

When I first read this I thought it was Soulkiss saying I need to get OUT on one of these to see what they are all about...

Now that would have made sense.
