well if competition is 150, and i can make them for less than that, expect them to cost less than that...Another option for me would to be to offer them in aluminum, steel, and possibly titanium

ther is a guy that sells the race/after market rear sets on ebay for i think its £99 quid so it would depened on how well you make them really!
prices range from roughly £100-£250 maby more but like i said it would depened on how well you are makeing them. ![]() |

Here are to stress Analysis pictures. The first one would be as if you layed your bike down and there was force directly inwards on the end of the peg. There is a 1000 pound force acting on the end of the peg and the maximum the piece bends is .26 inches.
![]() This picture is such that a 500 pound man was standing on a single point attached 3 inches from the point where the peg mounts. Maximum deflection is only .17 inches. Pretty good considering it is simply machined 6061 aluminum. ![]() That is the basic design, moved the peg about 1 inch upwards and about 1 inch back. This is just a preliminary, expect strength to increase as design progresses. Also please feel free to comment and let me know what YOU would like to see in this. Thank you, Nate |

![]() ![]() This is just a basic one again. It would not include the peg area. And i'll get another one up in a few minutes |

Pretty cool use of CAD, just learning that at the moment, is that some sort of FEA built in to CAD? If so what program are you using? One thing to remember though, the deflection is not important, it's whether thats elastic or plastic deformation of the part, and also most importantly, you can make a completely rigid footpeg hanger, which will take 10 minutes and $50 to replace, but if the bike goes down hard it will break the frame tab, which could be $300 and half a day to replace the frame. The rearset should snap BEFORE the frame does!
