What's the rest of the bike like? Excluding fairing of course.

I'd be interested at ?500, but you're at the wrong end of the country. If no one else buys it, and you still have it in 2 months (after I've got silly things like getting married out of the way) send me a PM.

What colour is the bike?

So you're gonna have to have it restricted to 33bhp. For how long.?

Plowsie went for an IL4 after his Sv and found it gutless by comparison.

Why not get a s/h pointy with the restrictor fitted and get finance over a shorter period of time.

3years or more is a long time to be stuck with one bike, especially at the start of your riding career.

Bike is blue, and, has a restrictor kit fitted.

I figured a triple would restrict better than an IL4, as it's torquey all the way through. And in fairness, I find my restricted SV to be a little gutless compared to driving it unrestricted, when I was driving on my private runway h'oficar.

I should be getting a lump sum of about ?9000 (teacher training... ) in a couple of years, so I can pay off whatever I get then.

+1
Why would you get anything but an SV & restrict it
You say the triple is better than an IL4 restricted, then a twin is going to be better still?

correctamundo! I just don't really want another SV, in fairness. I'd quite happily have one, but it's just a matter of budget really, and I've surprised myself with how much cash I can muster in a short space of time.

I'll be restricted for about another year and a bit or so.

IMO spend only the £1400 that you have now for the year + restricted. Then you'll have the 9large to spend on a brand new IL4 1000 cc without bothering with debt now or then.

That's a fair point, but, you know, I'm going to be in ?20000 debt when I finish uni regardless... basically, I think I'll get something I really want now regardless of money in the future. Stupid, but, I'm sure you can see my point

As a new rider you're going to be killed for anything sporty, especially if its new/nearly new.

I would think you mad to have TPO on a decent bike. They do get nicked frequently, so could you afford to just go out and buy another?

Also its not going to be great performance wise, as its restricted, so its almost a waste of money getting a good bike.

If you already have £20k of debt why would you want another chunk more? Thats incredibly irresponsible IMO! Its also a very dangerous attitude to have.

I am really sorry (and slightly embarrassed) to hear this dude.

I thought you said it was still going just making a pronounced rattle?!? If it was running then at worst it needs a new cam chain and tensioners, that is ~£100 max I should imagine? If it locked up the indeed it probably isn?t cost effective to fix the old motor bearing in mind you can buy a whole new (2nd hand) lump for £200-£300 if you keep an eye out. The transplant isn't as nasty a job as you might think either

I am tempted to buy it back off you actually ... but that just feels wrong!! ... also Canterbury is a fair old hike
