![]() I've used Redex on the SV, if I suspect it of bunging up I'd usually just pop the carbs off and give them a proper clean but sometimes I can't be bothered, and it does seem to help. Course, you never know if something's just got better by itself, or if it's placebo effect even... But then again, even if it is a placebo effect, a bottle lasts for ages so it's a cheap placebo ![]()

Well, I'm no chemist, but I first put some in the bike 20000 miles ago or so. I can't really see that there's much difference between a bike and a car from this point of view, especially with older bikes.

Cleaners like Redex are OK to add to fuel in the amounts instructed for specific purposes, i.e. to clean parts of the fuel system where deposits have built up. Stuff like FST to minimise carb icing are fine. Avoid any additives for engine or transmission oils. Decent oil will do the job fine. In particular do not use anything with chlorinated paraffins, like Active8 or ZX1, they look good in anti-scuff test demonstrations but will destroy an engine, read this

I'd say use the tank with redex in it first, then add FST to the next. No particular info about any possible reaction, but it's the safe bet.

Frankly save your money on Redex and just give it a couple of tankfuls of decent fuel, it's old-hat additive technology compared to what Shell et al are selling you
