steering damper.

I like the effect my damper provides, although i must admit i initially purchased it for aesthetic reasons.

I've ridden mates bikes without a damper since i had mine fitted and the steering seems a bit 'wrong'.

IMO unless you have the money to throw away then its not worth it. As others have suggested spend money inside the forks and on the rear shock.

After all, you'll only be polishing a turd.

Steering dampers just mask problems! The most common is with riding style, but if you need a damper because of the bike and not you riding technique then sort out the suspension!!!

A good damper will cost more than getting your handling sorted!

A wobbly SV could be due to the soft suspension. I've had shakes and wobbles, nothing to write home about though.

And certainly never anything to warrant a steering damper, even high-speed wibbles due to top-box style areodynamics

Even with maria pillion AND the damn topbox, any wobbles have been nothing to get excited about.

Save your dosh, and instead source a new rear shock and a new set of fork springs. Much better...and possibly cheaper!
