yes indeed bad luck, regular oil checks (like every ride) help, and of course the oil light is very much a grab the clutch in and pray thing.

To answer your question though, as you don't have lowers and prosuming you have all the tools, and hour each way (lump out/lump in) is realistic.

How many miles did you do in those 2 weeks? That's a fair bit of oil, assuming it was healthily topped off at last check.

Bad luck anyway
At least you can get it sorted yourself. I dread to think how much a garage would charge to repair or replace a knacked engine.

i did over 1500 miles those 2 weeks, and a 1000 of them were motorway...

That trailer looks well smart...

I'v had a couple of low oil episodes, but never quite low enough to be a problem, I think tbh a lot of people will be laughing at your expense and not thinking of the times they've let it go low...

i know i dont do many miles but my oil level never budges on the thou, it didn't on the 650 either? so was this an engine problem or do they naturally use some?

Surely the oil light should come on well before the oil is low enough to do any damage?
