The drain hole is worth clearing, the drain in the SV I'm working on at the moment was well blocked. put some WD down the hole and none came out, so put the air line to the drain and a big lump of crap came out with a right pop!

The little drain hole on the RHS of the bike.

Air line, you know, the squirtymajig dooberry.

Squirt WD40 up there and it should spray out of the spark plug tunnel.

Don't do this without a spark plug in or you'll wash all the $hit into the cylinder.

I succeeded in changing the front plug at last, so thanks to those who mentioned the radiator/fairing pegs. I wonder why those aren't mentioned in the manual!?

I think the manual assumes you've removed the fairing panels. They do get in the way if you have to take the carbs off or anything like that.
