Averaged 61mpg full panniers, crap weather, down to Glastonbury on the A's and twisty's, not too shabby (normally get 40 best round town!)

Best was 66mpg no luggage on.

Worst 58mpg full kit on in headwinds!

On a good 'ol Curvy stock standard!

I have done 170 miles on a tank, i was very nervous and all the petrol stations seem to have disappeared.

only manage to get 14odd litres in tho! I don't ride like much of a pansy either...

hmmm BMW 800 is rated at 57 MPG, I reckon my Sv can do that.
Weird thing is, my bike gives better fuel mileage after filter, jetting and end can...

70,000 miles? And to think I've got a 23,000 miler that I thought would last me a year or two until it conked out! Looks like the Sv is here for the long haul, as I only do about 3-4,000 miles a year!

I wonder how long they can run for? Any 100,000 milers out there?

190 miles until the bike flashed, and then only took 12.6 litres after 200 miles. You amateurs!

Yes a few have done 100k, rictus has one that did 153k before it's first MOT, admittedly not on the same engine. They can last very well if you run them a lot and keep up to the servicing.

So, we have a new high at 72mpg from gettin2dizzy. Although i'm amazed at how you'd get that!

If only we could persuade Mr Brown and his evil legions of winged tax-monkeys that bikes shouldn't pay more road tax than daewoo matiz' and smart cars, we'd be laughing!

I wish I could convey how much I dislike those heaps of slanty crap motors! The smart cars seem no better but I've never worked on one, so to be on the safe side I dislike those too
