Remember that the engine still needs to be run in, so ride it appropriately, also don't put high-grade oil in it as this will not help with the bedding in. I wonder if it's still eligible for its free 600 mile service. Either way, the oil will want changing again around that time, then you can put some better stuff in.

DO oil, dont need to worry about filter. The oil will have water in it maybe (from condensation) so it might not be very good anymore.
The brake fluid will no doubt have gone off, so change that - its 3 years old almost And the radiator fluid (water and antifreeze, normally) is ment to be changed every two years aswell I think So yea, do it all. Is there any old petrol in the tank? If so, thats probably gone off - drain the tank and put in fresh stuff And then go out and ride ![]() Matt |

I personally wouldn't be worried about the brake fluild or coolant, but maybe that's just me, so Petrol & Oil (EXCluding filter)
And have a very good look at the tyres for perishing |

no worries! although with the price of petrol i'm a bit loathed to just chuck it away! although for the amount of time its been sat there it was probably a damn sight cheeper whe that lot was put in!! lol.
so what grade oil would you suggest i use? |

The petrol, if you can get it all out into a clear container to look at it & see if ther's water sitting at the bottom then you could possibly put it back in the tank little by little mixing with new stuff & through away the watery bit at the bottom.

Cheers for the tip on the oil.
think i am gonna just drain the tank down and have a huge bonfire! if i'm gonna take it all out might as well just fill it up with new stuff and put the old stuff to a good use!! ![]() |

OK, but remember with the petrol the crap is at the bottom so make sure you get it all out - just most of it out will be worse than useless.

If its only done 58 miles wont it need running in oil until its done 600?Im not sure how to run in a three year old engine that sat around.
I think £2500 is exactly the right price for it.You will need to pay for its first service, have the tyres changed(probably)and sort a few niggles from the long lay up.
