Not at all it's just a micro switch... and better yet, it's knackered anyway so you've nothing to lose!

I'd take the switch off the bike (take wires off, 2 screws hold the switch on as I recall), and simply squirt it full of WD40 or contact cleaner or similar. Work the switch and keep squirting the stuff in through the little vent hole.
Chances are it'll clean the contacts up enough to start working again. They are designed so the contacts wipe slightly as the switch works which in theory keeps them clean, but dirt can build up and prevent contact. Give it a try. Nothing to fear!

Finaly managed to get around to looking at the switch. Tried WD40 and no luck, opened up the switch and all the insides just fell out, anyone know where I can buy a new one, or what is this, "pressure switch banjo bolt", more to the point is it easy enough to fit.

The Banjo Bolt Switch option is not for you I am afraid.
It would require you to bleed your brakes, and from your post, I dont think you are up to that just yet. Go to any bike breakers or scrap-yard, as mentioned, its a common part for any Nissin brake system, (so any Japanese bike). Alternatively, any bike dealers should be able to get you one.
