I often feel that way.

Construction is so full of bureaucracy, people who (think they) know to much, and people who really do know nothing and sometime you just have to wonder how they manage to keep going in their profession without people realising they are a retard.

You have to keep at it, earn a living, and leave work at work.

You should try the printing industry, never known anything like it.. clueless isn't the word...

I too hate my job but its reasonable money which has been paying my debts which is the only reason i've stayed

My future should be resolved one way or the other early next year though as my job is being outsourced, I'll either get a new job with the outsourcing company or a nice cheque which will pay off my debts and get me a new bike... so happy either way

Until then though, i'll stay thoroughly fed up

Go to your doctor, get signed off for Stress and Depression.

Then you can sit at home instead and not have to face it.

Works for many people

I've thought about doing that many times... seen it done by a few people in the past..

I just don't think I could look myself in the mirror after though, quite a moral person really

come and work where I work...you'll be sooooo depressed within a weekend on nights( or any other shift) that you'll run straight back to your old job.
I hate my job, but, can't jack it in. Its quite a good wage for what I do. I couldn't get that amount for working inbetween school hours, so i have to grit my teeth and get on with it.
In fact my other half hates it there so much he went to the docs with pain in the hip, to get time off for his final exams.....on the one hand it worked, cause hes off permanently, on the other came the reality that hes fooked and will be in surgery next week
but hey, when hes well again, we''lll be running as far away from the place as possible

I get fed up with the job about every 2 years and change boats. So yes just dump it. there is tonnes of work out there if you want it.

Yes twice. Changed jobs twice and not just changed companies, changed careers completely.

It can be daunting and stressful, but at the end of the day, why stick doing what your doing just because that's what you know how to do?

First change was a the worst as it was when I left the Army after 12 years and had no idea what the hell I was going to do. Quite worrying as my family were dependant on me and I gave up a secure job and future. Turned out good in the end and I ended up with a career which doubled my income.

Next change was not so difficult as I got a new job whilst still in the old. But I sacrificed good pay for more home life. So money was short. Again, we got through it and I've been promoted so money is no longer such an issue.

Jo was working doing a job she really hated. We really needed the money but I wasn't prepared for to come home sometimes in tears. She quit and was much happier. We got used to the lack of income again.

Personally, I'd say never stay in a job your not happy with. Especially if you hate it that much. You may have to make sacrifices to get out of it, but if your prepared to work hard, it's worth it.

We shouldn't live to work, we should work to live.
