Hey Shelly
Get your butt on the seat and start slowly. Build your confidence up gradually. There are plenty of quiet roads/industrial estates in your area that you can go on to start again. Get someone to go with you for encouragement and keep at it. If in doubt about anything i have an old CB400 Superdream at my in-laws that i'll swap for Zuki for a while til you build up your confidence!!! ![]() You have 4 months to get your leg over again (oo-er that just sounds wrong) while i am away and when i get back i want to hear that you are back to your old self getting stopped by your colleagues!!! keep trying Shell, I cacked me pants Saturday when I got back on, only 4 days after. Luckily Mel came out with me...it was like riding just after my test again. I can only imagine what its like after months off the horse.
Keep trying, you'll win, I went out again tonight, and again had a nice friend called Pmapp to accompany me back to the motorway .. in the dark.. it were rotten til i got on there. I was a right slow mo, more slow than my usual self Keep trying chick

It can take a bit of time, but keep at it.
I broke bones in both my hands, and suffered head trauma, etc when I got knocked of my bike. After almost two months away from riding it was strange (and a bit painful where my pins had been) riding again. Besides it's be a real shame to let the bike just sit there! |

Short trips are the key just a few miles and then put the bike away, nothing breeds success like success. As your confidence returns then extend the mileage, you can start by just running up the road through a couple of gears and then come to a halt it all works towards getting those motor skills set back into your head.

Keeping the bike for a year...going through all you've been through....
Clearly you have the desire Shell. The rest is just overcoming the fear. Some good advice here given by your mates. Just hang in there and keep trying. It will get better with every ride. Start small and work your way up. I know you can overcome this. [Que "Galaxy Quest" theme] Never Give Up...Never Surrender!!! |
