Yeah it's very odd. Double check it's on right way round.

it is ... its driving me firkin nuts... the bike is really good the rest of the time now its just when i'm decelerating from about 100 and at 80 it ''feels like the tyre has a puncture or it feels like i.m riding in sand or it feels like i'm riding in ruts on a trail bike''. all sorta the same symptom.

Take the wheels out and check it is balanced properly (the spindle and two axle stands are good enough). Next spin it round and check it is round not egg shaped ... Dunlop used to really bad for making eggs, perhaps Avon have finally caught up to where Dunlop was 15yrs ago!!

As already said, doubler check the wheel balancing.

A 60 is a better tyre for the SV650, also the 70 isn't insurance friendly as Suzuki do not approve it.

well after going over the bike again today i found the problem.

i replaced the back shockky when i done the front end swap but used a temporary bolt till i got the proper one from suzuki, i got the bolt and fitted it the same time as the tyres but never noticed it slightly fouling one of the dog legs, it was so small i never really paid attention to it, but i took it off and ground it down by about 3mm, and guess what, it got rid of the problem. just goes to show that even a slight rubbing on the rear linkage can cause so much grief to the front.

so guess who is a verrry happy chappy.......

i now know what everyone is raving about with avon storms.. they are absolutely awsum tyres, coupled with the gsxr front end and rear shokky its transformed a mediocre bike into a brilliant bike.

i've so much confidence in the bike now, it feels so good compared to the standard bike.

yup.. one of the first things i done when i ground the bolt down.. and its all fine and dandy. the bike only done a max of about 25 miles for testing, was only a slight rubbing and done no damage. but thanks for the reminder as i could have forgot.

Much more than light surface scoring and I'd be tempted to replace it.

+ 1

This component takes a lot of abuse, anything more than scoring could leave you in an uncomfortable position one day...
