Simply Indicating is not enough.

Don't assume any car drivers can drive, (ie. expect stupid things) look after yourself and plan ahead of what they are planning. If you know he's gonna pull out on you, take some action, maybe - blip the throttle, give them space, burn it past to get out of the way or (shock horror) use your horn - its what it is there for.

aye, coming back on the a64 on friday I was behind two girls who were in a saxo in the fast/far lane. With the amount of people that would fail, then require a re-test this simply isn't viable. What if you had a bad day and failed, then couldn't get to work? Obviously you think you'd pass, I think I'd pass, but anyone can have a bad day.

Are you being sarcastic here? If not then I dont agree at all. The small percentage that the people to which you refer make up in the millions of people on the road isnt even worth a mention. My own personal belief is that the emphasis has been completely scewed towards speeding. So you can drive like a plonker not signalling or looking in your mirrors as long as you dont break those speed limits!! I genuinely beleive that the majority of people think like this now.

Agreed. Unlicenced drivers are probably not that significant. Uninsured drivers on the other hand...

Well I found a perfect place for my post now. Approaching roundabout at night, intending to go straight over. I see a car on the roundabout appraoching from the opposite carriadgeway so I slow down just in case. He has one headlight out and takes the 3rd exit without indicating, just as well I slowed and assumed he's a feckwit. As he drives past I also notice he is on the phone. From the clothes he was wearing (silly hat as well) I assume he is from Africa or similar, unless he was on his way to a fancy dress party. Bloody foreigners!

Yip. And that is easily catered for with a "grace" period - have to repass between 9.5 and 10.5 years. I know it's not a fashionable view, but I think it rediculous that you can pass your test and drive for 50 odd years before you are required to state that you think you're still okay to drive.

Same thing happened to me yesterday... was raging! turning right at roundabout... see woman in BMW on left... she didnt even look to see if anything was coming - drove thru missing my bike by a few inches - even after i took my finger off the hooter almost a mile (ok,slight exaggeration) down the road she still hadnt noticed me..... untill i pulled up next to her and told her her fortune in sign language
