Yep pull-ups. The other question is should I drop so that my arms are fully extended and I am dangling. But I was worried about tearing something, so was 45 degree to chin over.

Pull-ups you have your Palms facing away. Less biceps, more back.
Chin-ups, Palms facing you. Work your biceps more, and they are Easier.

20 pull ups? that quite impressive,

but, its not helping you lose weight/burn fat , they are probaly the best exersise for building muscle mass/strenth in the back and you do use your biceps a bit,

anywho......... i think this is where your going wrong

I can't do 20, its more theorizing to figure out what is best for me and there was a little debate in the office about it, so I knew who I'd ask. I think I could just about manage 4 or 5.

Correct, plus muscle weighs more than fat.

Jog or cycle if you want to lose weight.

If you mean Chin-Ups go from 90 degree elbow bend and lift, keeps the muscle active and less chance of muscle strain.

Correct, with Pull-Ups you want to spread your arms a bit and lift your body using you shoulder and upper back muscles. We do one with your head aiming to get in front of the bar and the next behind....

I was always told that if you wanna lose weight then it is 30% exercise, 70% diet. The problem is that people find it easy to add exercise into their daily routine a few times a week, but changing diet on a daily basis is much harder because eating is such a sociable thing i.e eating with your family, going out for dinner/lunch, drinking alcohol etc.
