I've got them in on my bike- but as the carbs/chokes have needed some work, I can't really say for sure that I'm noticing a difference in general running. As the chokes haven't been running great, I can't get an idea of cold starts.

However- the bike's in for that right now- getting the carbs ultrasound cleaned and new choke cable, plus a dyno run. I guess I'll know more throughout winter.

The bike did seem a lot smoother when I installed them- but this could be new oil too...

Any issue with mixing spark plug types front and rear? I only ask as if carrying spare spark plugs*, should they also be iridium, or would my old partially-used standard NGKs be okay?

What about bikes with twin spark plugs in a cyclinder, should both plugs in the same cyclinder be the same?

*for riding in floods/river crossings/after cack-handed garages use a jetwash on my bike.

They should be the same but in an emergency it won't do any harm.

fitted Iridium plugs today , only ridden 30 miles , seems easier / quicker to start ( but would do with new plugs anyway ) , we see how they go

Main thing I was looking for was longer life , better cold starting and may be ( fingers crossed ) a couple more MPG ?

Cheers Steveg

You will get that with any new plug, that isn't an Iridium only thing.

I've always had very good service from http://www.spark-plugs.co.uk/

You might find cheaper but the above are very good suppliers.

Check out their site for recommended plug type, I'd recommend NGK iridium. They list the CR8-EIX for all SV650 up to K5 here
