I do not feel sorry for anyone with beliefs. It is there own private life.

Does this give anyone the right to "spread the word" in my direction? no.

I therefore wonder about the advert. Yes I approve of it. But personally I think there should be no advertising of any religious matters (either way/belief etc.) to make things fair.

That means no to this advert and all the others you see outside of churches etc.

not really... thats why its called faith...

other wise it would be a church of science... but then there is the whole argument of science

+1m!

If someone believes in god / religion / anything that improves their lives for their sake then its a good thing....FOR THEM.

I for one believe in myself

i do not want to be shouted at via megaphone in the street about how im going to hell / jesus loves you etc.....

so i agree with no advertising whatsoever of any religious kind, why does an entity advertise usually? to raise awareness of the "brand"? why raise awareness of the "brand"? to make more money, but thats a different issue....

not really what?

if hell isn't simply a way of frightening people then what purpose does it serve?

I like the way that they aren't sure about it. "There is probably no god." Makes me laugh anyway.

i don't think so, and i'd hope not - if i met anyone in real life i wouldn't press the issue unless they wanted to talk about it, once i'm on the bike you're just another biker to me

the point of the thread, aside from pointing out the amusing hypocrisy of "Christian Voice" is that as someone raised for 18 years in a christian family, who then went to study science at university, i genuinely don't understand how the religious mind can operate without experiencing the nagging doubts and feelings of incomplete explanations that the whole idea of a creator god threw up for me. the more i looked into the claims from religion the more holes i found, and it surprises me that people aren't more interested in looking for themselves, or how easily they dismiss our observations of the world to defend their chosen faith

Gazza, that was a deliberate joke, you cannot "prove" there is no god, because the concept of god is non-scientific, you could always claim that the universal evidence that god doesn't exist is simply god using his infinite power to hide from us

or to condense it to the popular theist cop out:

"god moves in mysterious ways"

edit: see "Russell's teapot" for a better explanation

Think some people are confusing god with religion, they are not thesame thing. If someone has a belief in god (whichever one) then that is their belief / faith religion ok the otherhand is susceptable to all the failings and misconceptions of man. Hence the multiple different "types" of Christianity or any other religion.

I completely agree, it doesnt make logical sense, but who are you or I to question other peoples beliefs and thought processes.....(unless someone else brings it up !)
