Cool. I'm gonna give it a go then hire sommat if it proves to be unsuitable. I reckon it should be fine - its proper touring kit, which has recently been in an off so already needing some repairs so i'm not too bothered about a few more scrapes.
Can't see the arms and legs being too short - they're designed to sit on a bike with arms and legs bent. Surely that means they're longer than normal?

I have to say this is probably a wise investment if you fall alot, I didnt have mine on when I took my tumble, it was only a little tumble to, but I went down on my wrist and bent it in a funny way.
I havent been to work since 3rd of Jan, I've been in a cast for two weeks and then I had to have an operation to put a plate into my wrist to hold it all together... I dont know if the outcome would have been different if I had my wrist guards on...

I remember that feeling, its so frustrating to keep falling all the time, stick with it and you'll find all of a sudden you click with it and you wont fall anymore.

Thanks Shellywoozle - i'm just a wee bit skint atm having spent all my money on the holiday! Hence trying to save money using my bike gear.
Fizz - i got pretty good in a week last time i went. Trouble is this was about 5 years ago so i might be back to square one.

Up at Glenshee, you quite often see folk wearing their bike kit on the piste. I wear my 'Suzuki Racing' woolly hat with my skiing stuff and there are a lot of 'biker nods' going on, so go for it. You will probably meet some interesting people!

I've seen plenty of people at Glencoe wearing standard Council Issue luminous road sweeper waterproofs before - your bike gear, although it may be a bit clumpy and cumbersome will probably be Ok.
I'd second the suggestion of checking a local TK Maxx before you go though... |

Oh yeah, if you are in the alps, then walkie talkies are feckin' handy. Last time I went we had eight of them. Made hooking up with your mates a doddle.
