Something like that, but how many races did he start on the front row and then go backwards down the ride and pootle round in 11th or 12th... he did it alot...

He needs to turn his qualifying performances into race podiums IMHO

But maybe it's not out of determination that this happens, maybe it's because of other technical factors like deteriorating tyres. At least that's what I'd like to think. I'm sure that if either of them gets a win once there will be more.

So do I, he's my favourite rider. I'd love to see him on the top step of the podium. I'm hoping that this rift with JT is enough to get him properly fired up and he can turn his quailfying results which are normally spot on into race wins.

Colin has grown on me in the last few years, but I hated him in WSB. He was so arrogent and up his own rear end. The years in MotoGP have done him well, but i'd much rather see a Brit get to Edwards level, if not vastly better within a few years.

Its been too long since we've had a top top rider at the top motorcycle racing event (although WSB comes so close ).

I've always liked him, I liked the way he says what he thinks even if that might not fit in with what the PR department want him to say.

One year at Donnington, it had been p*ssing down all day, it was cold and horrible. He came over the circuit PA and said

"I just wanna thank all the fans for coming and sitting out in the p*ssy weather all day"

This was followed by a massive cheer from the crowd, he always waves to teh crowd on the slowing down laps to at the end of every session. Rather than ride back and not acknowledge the crowd at all like some of the other riders, ( Pedrosa springs to mind here do )

it would be nice to see JT on the top step, but I think he's got a mountain to climb before he does. Not that I dont think he can make it, I just think it'll be a little while.

Colin says it like it is so at times this may sound as arrogant. My only concern with his riding really is that he may have grown older and wiser so calculates the championship points rather than tries to win the race. The theory of winning the war if not the battle makes some sense but if you try to hindsite your way through a championship it may run away from you.

JT is a cool honest guy. If he doesn't make champion he still deserves respect on his way of tackling the pressure of riding in such a top class of racing. And yeah, I'd like another Sheeny.
