Race track noise limit is usually 105dB and usually fairly strict too.

it's possible on most cans I think. Kind of defeats the object looks and weight wise but if you're going purely for sound then worth considering.
I get ****ed off with mine to be honest, yeah it's drool worthy and the bangs make crowds of women hit the deck and chavs duck holding their caps but I hate having to smack it in a high gear every time I see a copper and the general worry.

Yeah there is always that like. The SV used to set car alarms off though and the police didnt seem to mind it.
Although apparently inline fours whilst not louder make a much more severe type of loud noise. |

Here's mine: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=119373
Slip on only - well worth the money. I paid £215 from Biohazard Cycles ins the states, 10 days delivery. According to my girlfriend, I can be heard from quite a way down the road when coming home. When I first got it I though feck this is loud, but its pretty clear that the noise will never compare to a thunderous v-twin. Power wise, I have not done anything to remap the fuelling etc. It is a bit thinner lower down, but I reckon its only a 5% difference between 6 and 9krpm. I never did a before dyno test, but the after dyno test did come out at a lot more than expected* - 122 rear wheel bhp at 14.2krpm apparently and 45.5 nM at 12krpm. *These figures are not to be taken as final and seem quite high, but a Daytona 675 and a curvy SV tested at 118 and 52 bhp respectively on the same dyno on the same day, so make of it what you will. Realistically, the power it puts out is far more than I will be able to use effectively for a while yet, but there we go. |

yep really highpitched and rasping. can be heard for miles, I tend to think wind noise swallows up my bellows at higher speeds but a bit of the opposite with a il4
