You should have nailed the CG and kept with the ER6
thats tosh, I've out accelerated a 2005 R6 on my K3 SV. Its all about technique, drop the clutch in at 8,000 rpm and you'll leave it for at least 4 or 5 secs. Its the torque that gives it the advantage early on. You will of course attract a little attention doing this in the middle of London

What sorts of revs were you hitting. Probably not a good idea and may actually top out but you can pull away in first well up until the needles somewhere near the 50mph (don't take your eyes of the road!). Try that and if it you still can't beat a 125 are you sure no one's cunningly swapped your bike for a moped?

40mph in 1st??? no way, mine seems to scream if I'm not in 2nd by about 25mph. Wouldn't want to take it to 40mph.

regardless and sv wont.

I'm not great at a quick start, I'm alright dont get me wrong but not great. Now my mate who races minitwins at a decent level and is quick in all areas including taking off from a standstill, has a pointy for the road .....and he is always behind my 600rr from a standing start and I'm not very good at it.......none of this 40mph crap, it just wont

drop the clutch in as in feather it at 8k revs? or fully release the lever?

and thats why you got nailed of a set of traffic lights by a CG...

It needs rev's to make power, dont short shift hang on to the throttle and let it rev out more.

course it will mines restricted, I was overtaking a lorry the otherday two up and by the time it was safe to look at the clocks (pretty much just after hitting second) I was at national speed limit.

(admittedly I should have changed earlier as it topped out of power)
