Theres a few damaged ones for cheap around here. I thought if it wasn't a lot of hassle I could buy the bits I needed off eBay to get it turned into a faired one.

Ah OK that kinda makes sense, I think though the cost savings by buying a damaged one would be outweighed by the extra parts you'd have to buy and the hassle of doing it.

Yeah thats what I was wondering about. Oh well if i can find a second hand restrictor for a carbed bike I might get a curvy and get it resprayed. If not and i'm ok with work I might buy me a brand spanker

You could save a lot of time by going for that naked with 'clipons' look. Then get a dual naked headlight to save of fiddling with the loom to make it ready for one light. The pointys uses the same clocks on N or S so there is no need to worry about that either. If you keep the clipons then you aint got to worry about 'throttle/clutch/choke' cable lenghts so it could be done.

Its almost enough to make me by a pointy.

At what speeds?

The naked looks better for both pointy & curvy anyway.
