Ireland and Scotland are beautiful places and not far to travel on your own if you're not confident or if you run out of money...

Try that first and then plan a trip into France if you find yourself enjoying it ?

Sounds a cracking idea ... and as Tara says map is coming out.

I have 7 weeks off as my annual leave runs from Aug to Aug and due to my op and time off from breaking my arm etc etc I have had lots of days of sick which reduced my time to have my leave in. I then booked leave randomly and due to restrictions on annual leave as we have a custody block out of action (need more officers on which means less hol granted) I found myself not being able to have any time off. So to have 14 days off I book 6 days annual leave, had 240 hours to take hence so much time off.

but dont want to stop at home in the garden or on the net so figured I need riding experience what a way to get it.

DaveP I may take you up on that hun ..... will let ya know my plans.

Just need to find a god sitter ha ha ha Mummy Woozle loves me I hope.

Go to france if you can the roads are good, drivers and people are bikerfriendly, food is good. I have been most summers since I started riding, it's best with a friend I would say. Don't fancy the idea of going on my own myself.

I would plan a route covering the UK and Ireland. Ask for good routes in each section and ask if anyone could put you up for a night or so, that will cut down your costs. As you are on your own Im sure most people would be able to let you sleep on sofa for a night.
