whats the axle bolt ? what holds the wheels on ?

yea, i note they like to corrod quite well, so a spray of WD40 or some toher water-repellant will help reduce the rate of corrision

dont get it on the brake disc

Invest in ACF50, makes it a doddle to clean and repel corrosion.

The K5 onwards bikes are meant to be a bit more prone to corrosion (i've read) and an hour after work will keep it in nice condition.

After a ride in the rain... I wash and coat liberally in FS365.

Of course, you have no understanding of the word "anti corrosion" and "washing" and "waxing"

"anti-corrosion" ACF50.
All lever pivots etc. if you maintain your bike properly then you won't need to mess around after every few specks of rain.

"washing" "waxing" Ain't they bird things?

I tend to just put mine away, and have a cup of tea, something to eat and relax.

The only time I've rinsed it off after a wet ride is when I've had to use the GSXR in the winter and its got salt all over it, and then it just got rinsed with the hose pipe and cold water.

Last thing I'll feel like doing if I have been out riding in the rain is then standing out in it and washing the bike. I'd rather put it away dirty and then fish it out on a dry day and go over when I've got the time to scrub it properly.

TBH at some point its going to rust and I'd rather ride than worry about keeping it pristine.

Have a break, have a Kit Kat.

I've had my SV for six years now and haven't looked much after it. I
lube the chain every 400 miles or so and this is the only time I
wash the bike. I bought a bottle of FS365 six years ago but used it
only once.

Still, the wheels haven't fallen of my bike.

Two rules I have established for myself for keeping motor vehicles
in decent nick:

1) keeping overnight in a garage helps,

2) not crashing helps even more.
