Tried all of that, everything was as it should be.

Left the bike in the shed for a few days before taking it out today: reasoned that if the problem's in my head then a few days off the road would help. Absolutely no squirming on braking any more so I guess that was the cause.

Look at it on the bright side, at least your bikes had the equivalent on a good service and you know everything is as it should be!
