Or they could just be different in some minor detail.
Look on JHS racing archive about the SV, they have details of their hot cams and which need stronger valve springs. I suspect this will be the difference in lift as I think the JHS really hot cams can be fitted onto an otherwise stock motor with stronger valve springs.

I can't help wondering if the bearing locations are identical. There could be variations in diameter, spacing and oilways if they've re-worked the head.
Maybe I'm just getting paranoid in my old age... Keith. |

is it worth it for 2bhp?

Well if it works with standard pistons and little modfication then yes if you have no cam swap yet than it could be worthwhile, compared to a K3+ swap with a 2bhp gain I would say no.

If you intend keeping your curvy long term I'd be more interested as to what mods would need to be done to make the Gladys engine a feasible transplant.

Why? I reckon gladys has twin plugs. Definately an overcomplicated oil cooler setup. Why is this needed?

On the aero engines they have twin plug setups (with separate ignition systems for full backup as losing a cylinder is usually unfortunate). Switching off one plug gives a very noticeable power drop and less sweet running. I don't think it's popular to design them in as it takes away from valve area I guess but if you have an existing design you can fit it into it must help.

Yep, but the aero engines are designed for it from the ground up, whereas the SV had it thrown into an existing engine. The Gladius has a few differences to the engine but it's still the same motor (and it's not making significantly different power)

It would be a shame if it required different pistons to get the clearance, would be a lot of work. Does anyone know if the Busa pistons have more valve clearance, would be a nice weight saving in the proces (stock sv-319.2
stock busa-302.5 gr I think). I wonder what the weight is of these newer Gladius pistons. BTW, at the risk of going off-topic here, wouldn't the stronger, heavier crank of the Gladius be a nice combo with the Busa pistons. Overall weight would probably not increase too much, but with lighter piston you get less conrod and bearing load and with the stronger crank you'll have a stronger bottom end for further development.
